Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray highlighted the historical rivalries between the undivided Shiv Sena and Congress, emphasizing that both parties avoided vindictive actions against each other.

At an event commemorating Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary, Thackeray remarked that central agencies never targeted Shiv Sena leaders, even though Bal Thackeray was openly critical of the then prime minister.

Criticizing the current government led by Narendra Modi, Thackeray contrasted Rajiv Gandhi's leadership in facing challenges with the present regime's inattention to violence in Manipur and Kashmir.
