In a significant political move, Haryana MLA Kiran Choudhry has resigned from the Vidhan Sabha, amid expectations that she will contest in the Rajya Sabha bypolls for the BJP.
This decision follows her recent shift from the Congress, along with her daughter Shruti and their followers, to the BJP in June.
The elections, set to fill 12 vacant Rajya Sabha seats across nine states on September 3, include a crucial seat in Haryana left open by the election of Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda to the Lok Sabha.
