Taiwan's Latest Military Drills: A Show of Strength Amidst Rising Tensions with China
In response to increasing military pressure from China, Taiwan's military conducted live-fire missile drills at the Jiupeng Military Base. The exercises included the launch of domestically made Sky Bow III missiles and US-made Patriot PAC II missiles. Taiwan's actions underscore its effort to strengthen its defence strategy.
In a significant show of strength, Taiwan's military executed live-fire drills on Tuesday, deploying surface-to-air missiles amidst escalating tensions with China.
The exercises, which were held at the Jiupeng Military Base in southern Taiwan, featured both domestically manufactured Sky Bow III anti-ballistic missiles and US-made Patriot PAC II and Standard missiles.
China, which considers Taiwan part of its territory, has voiced strong opposition, particularly towards Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te, labeling him a separatist. Taiwan, in response, has ramped up its defensive measures and received backing from the US.
