The National Conference (NC) has officially promised to restore Article 370 and statehood to Jammu and Kashmir in its election manifesto.

In June 2000, the NC government led by Farooq Abdullah passed a resolution to restore the state's pre-1953 position, which was later rejected by the Union Cabinet.

The Modi government abrogated Article 370 in 2019, creating two Union Territories. NC Vice President Omar Abdullah emphasized achievable promises as part of the party's roadmap and vision document for governance.

Other key promises include the full implementation of the 2000 Autonomy Resolution and redrawing governmental acts related to Jammu and Kashmir.

Elections will occur in three phases in September, concluding with results announced on October 4.
