Amid MUDA 'scam' allegations, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has slammed Leader of the Opposition (LoP) R Ashoka for comparing the current situation to former CM BS Yediyurappa's resignation in 2011. Siddaramaiah accused Ashoka of demonstrating ignorance by referencing Yediyurappa's resignation, which followed a probe into illegal mining, not merely the Governor's sanction for prosecution.

LoP R Ashoka had demanded CM Siddaramaiah's resignation, drawing parallels to Yediyurappa's 2011 scenario. Siddaramaiah retaliated on social media, highlighting the differences between the two cases. He pointed out that Yediyurappa resigned after the Lokayukta, led by N Santosh Hegde, submitted an extensive report on illegal mining, causing substantial losses to the state exchequer.

Clarifying further, Siddaramaiah noted that the Lokayukta inquiry validated the Governor's prosecution decision. He criticized BJP leaders for their hypocrisy, recalling that they had opposed a similar move by the Governor in 2011. Congress leader KC Venugopal called the prosecution sanction a conspiracy and vowed to challenge it legally and politically. Siddaramaiah has moved the High Court to quash the Governor's order, claiming it was procedurally flawed and politically motivated.
