In a pointed critique, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent push for the 'one nation, one election' initiative during his Independence Day speech.

Speaking in Pune, Pawar highlighted the disconnect between Modi's statements and the Election Commission's recent announcement of separate poll dates for Haryana and Jammu-Kashmir. The inconsistency, according to Pawar, undermines the synchronized election proposal.

Pawar also addressed financial concerns in Maharashtra, criticizing the allocation of funds towards new schemes while existing programs and scholarships for students remain underfunded. He questioned the priorities of the current state government led by CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.

Additionally, Pawar touched on Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's expression of disinterest in contesting future elections, acknowledging it as a personal right and decision.
