Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged local Bharatiya Janata Party workers on Sunday to exceed their membership drive targets, emphasizing that no BJP booth should have less than 50 percent female representation.
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recommendation, Shah announced the use of technology to analyze membership data. He addressed a 'karyakarta sammelan' for the Naranpura assembly constituency, attributing BJP's success in Ahmedabad's Lok Sabha seats to the dedication of party workers.
Shah noted that BJP workers must renew their membership every six years, a policy distinct from the lifetime memberships offered by other political parties. He called for tech-driven analysis to help meet the membership targets for Naranpura, Wadaj, and Sardar Stadium wards.
Shah highlighted disparities in development between Ahmedabad's eastern and western parts, crediting BJP's strategic planning and anti-corruption stance for the western region's growth. He also criticized past governments for failing to grant citizenship to refugees, citing the recent Citizenship (Amendment) Act as a step towards justice.
