Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwara has criticized the Governor's office, claiming it has been 'misused' after Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot authorized the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over an alternative site scam in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority.
Parameshwara stated there was undeniable pressure from higher authorities on Governor Gehlot, impacting his decision. The alleged scam involves compensatory sites being allocated to Siddaramaiah's wife in a high-value area of Mysuru, a decision branded as misuse of authority by opposition activists who lodged a complaint.
Siddaramaiah has denied the accusations, insisting his wife deserved fair compensation. Parameshwara announced that they would challenge the prosecution's legality, stating the case against Siddaramaiah lacks clear evidence. He confirmed that the CM would consult his legal team for the next steps.
