Russia has declared a federal-level emergency in the Kursk region following a substantial incursion from Ukraine. This development comes four days after hundreds of Ukrainian troops crossed the border, marking Kyiv's most significant attack on Russian soil since the war began.
Simultaneously, a missile launched from a Russian plane struck a shopping mall in Kostiantynivka, Ukraine, resulting in at least 14 fatalities and 44 injuries. The attack, which took place in a residential area, caused thick black smoke to rise above the town.
In the wake of these events, Russia's Defense Ministry announced that reinforcements are en route to counter the Ukrainian raid in Kursk. The situation in the Kursk region remains difficult, according to acting governor Alexei Smirnov.
