Clash of the Thackerays: Sena Supporters Detained for Betel Nut Attack
Four Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters were detained in Beed, Maharashtra for allegedly throwing betel nuts at the convoy of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray. The act came amidst an ongoing tour by Raj Thackeray in the central Maharashtra region, although the nuts hit another vehicle.

Four supporters of the Shiv Sena (UBT) were detained in Beed, Maharashtra, after allegedly throwing betel nuts at the convoy of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Friday afternoon.
Raj Thackeray, who is the estranged cousin of Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, was touring the central Maharashtra region. According to a police official, some Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters attempted to block Raj's convoy and threw betel nuts during the incident.
The police official added that the betel nuts hit another car and not Raj Thackeray's vehicle. The detained supporters are currently facing charges, and a case is being registered against them. Notably, there have been past accusations by Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders claiming Raj Thackeray took contracts to curb Uddhav Thackeray's influence.
