Manish Sisodia, a trusted lieutenant of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in corruption and money laundering cases tied to the Delhi excise policy.

After spending 17 months in Tihar jail, Sisodia's release is seen as a significant boost for AAP, which has faced numerous setbacks. This marks the eighth attempt to secure his release after seven previous pleas were rejected due to delayed trial proceedings.

Known for his substantial contributions to Delhi's governance, Sisodia held 18 crucial portfolios, including education and finance, before his resignation following his arrest by the CBI. His release is expected to energize the party amid renewed political challenges.
