In a spirited assembly session, the TMC government in West Bengal reiterated its commitment to inclusive development, explicitly rejecting any divisive ideology. Minister Bulu Chik Baraik took aim at BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who recently attracted criticism for his comments on minority support and development policies.

Adhikari had sparked controversy by suggesting that 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' was unnecessary, advocating instead for 'Hum unke saath jo hamare saath' (we are with those who are with us). He later clarified that his statement was taken out of context and reaffirmed his belief in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan.

Baraik emphasized that the TMC government's policies aim to uplift every community, referencing initiatives for tribals in plantation areas. However, BJP's Narhari Mahato countered that TMC's promises of tribal welfare have not translated into action. Despite the debate, the assembly passed the West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2024.
