Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday firmly stood by BJD leader and his key aide V K Pandian, lauding him for his dedication, efficiency, and integrity. Patnaik dismissed a media report suggesting a rift within the party as 'completely false, motivated, defamatory, and malicious'.

Patnaik made these remarks in response to allegations that he had requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah 'not to entertain' Pandian. He reiterated Pandian's significant contributions to the state and BJD, emphasizing his revered status.

Furthermore, the BJP refuted claims of Patnaik promising support in the Rajya Sabha, with Vice President Biranchi Narayan Tripathy stating, 'BJP doesn't need any help from the BJD as it has the majority in the state and at the Centre.'
