Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP, offered a glimpse into the daily struggles of labourers and loco pilots in Delhi through a Facebook video shared on Tuesday. In the video, individuals recounted hardships related to inflation and poverty, contrasting it with better times under the earlier Congress regime.

Gandhi remarked that both daily wage earners and government employees are severely impacted by inflation, unemployment, and governmental negligence. 'Today in India, everyone from daily wage labourers to government employees are in dire straits--some due to inflation, unemployment, and some due to government negligence,' he noted.

He assured the public that their grievances would find a voice in Parliament and during protests. 'I will raise my voice for everyone's rights and provide justice--from the streets to the Parliament,' he vowed. Addressing the plight of railway loco pilots, Gandhi criticized the current government's policies, describing their lives as 'completely derailed' under the BJP regime. He dubbed them 'Railways Ka Agniveer.'

On his social media platform X, Gandhi shared footage of his interaction with railway workers who raised issues like long working hours and inadequate amenities. He highlighted that loco pilots are expected to work more than 14 hours daily without basic needs such as urinals in locomotives, stressing on their harsh working conditions.

Gandhi further alleged that 'non-movement' railway workers are reaping full benefits from the allocated Railway budget, while loco pilots' demands for an 8-9 hour work shift, basic facilities, and limited night shifts remain unmet as documented in previous video footage. (ANI)
