Robert F Kennedy Jr issued an apology on Tuesday after a video emerged showing part of a private phone call between himself and Republican former President Donald Trump. The footage, recorded by Kennedy's son, captured Trump sharing debunked claims about childhood vaccines and urging Kennedy to endorse his campaign.
In the leaked video, Trump is heard telling Kennedy, 'I would love you to do so. And I think it'll be so good for you and so big for you. And we're going to win.' Kennedy, who appeared mostly silent during the conversation, later expressed regret, stating, 'I should have ordered the videographer to stop recording immediately.'
The incident has not deterred Kennedy from his independent presidential bid, which continues to focus on securing ballot access in all 50 states. Concerns from Trump's and Biden's camps highlight the potential impact of Kennedy's campaign on the 2024 election landscape.
