China is urging the international community to endorse its peace plan for Ukraine, following a series of diplomatic engagements with Indonesia, Brazil, and South Africa. These countries are seen as key players in promoting global peace and have maintained open dialogues with both Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier this year, China and Brazil issued a joint peace plan, advocating for a peace conference involving both conflicting parties without further battlefield expansions. Despite not attending a peace summit in Switzerland, China remains committed to a diplomatic resolution.
The ongoing war has escalated, with Ukraine launching a new offensive in the Russian oblast of Kursk. While highlighting the vulnerabilities in Russian defenses, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aims to create a buffer zone for protection. China, however, criticizes Western support for Ukraine, which it views as exacerbating the conflict.
