The Congress clinched a win in the Manglaur assembly bypoll in Uttarakhand with Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin defeating BJP's Kartar Singh Bhadana by 422 votes. This marks Nizamuddin's fourth victory from the seat, previously won twice on a BSP ticket and once previously as a Congress nominee.

The Congress secured a significant victory in the Manglaur assembly bypoll in Uttarakhand on Saturday, as Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin edged out BJP candidate Kartar Singh Bhadana by a narrow margin of 422 votes.

This triumph marks Nizamuddin's fourth win from the Manglaur seat. Previously, he has claimed the seat twice representing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and once as a Congress candidate.

The BSP, which had held the Manglaur seat in the 2022 Uttarakhand Assembly election, fell to third place in the bypoll with Ubaidur Rahaman, son of former party MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari, securing 19,559 votes, while Nizamuddin garnered 31,727 votes and Bhadana 31,305 votes.
