The Congress party lashed out at the government on Friday for declaring June 25 as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas,' alleging it to be another instance of 'headline-grabbing hypocrisy' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of disrespecting Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar by associating the word 'murder' with the Constitution. He criticized the government for eroding the rights of Dalits and marginalized communities.
The opposition party announced that November 8, the day demonetization was declared in 2016, will be observed as 'Aajivika Hatya Diwas.' Kharge highlighted various instances he believes undermine the Constitution, further accusing the BJP-RSS of wanting to replace the Constitution with Manusmriti.
