In a renewed clash, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana of obstructing the water supply in the Yamuna, leading to a dire shortage in the national capital.
During a press conference, Priyanka Kakkar, AAP's chief national spokesperson, alleged that despite a Supreme Court order, 137 cusecs released by Himachal Pradesh had not reached Delhi. She further claimed that Haryana had reduced Delhi's water share by 200 cusecs, deviating from an inter-state agreement.
Kakkar stated that the Delhi government plans to bring these issues before the Supreme Court, which is scheduled to hear the matter on Monday. Meanwhile, BJP's Delhi unit chief, Virendra Sachdeva, accused AAP of fabricating the water scarcity and blamed mismanagement for the crisis.
