In a significant operation, Border Security Force (BSF) troops thwarted a major smuggling attempt by Bangladeshi smugglers early Thursday morning in Boxanagar. The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 am.

According to reports, BSF troops utilized non-lethal weapons in self-defense when the Bangladeshi smugglers, ignoring warnings, attempted to encircle and attack the personnel while forcefully trying to smuggle contraband items.

The smugglers fled the scene after the confrontation, leaving behind a substantial quantity of sugar. Reliable sources indicate that two of the smugglers sustained pellet injuries and are currently being treated at a hospital in Bangladesh. BSF troops remain on high alert to counter anti-national activities and prevent trans-border crimes.
