Tragedy on Rails: Woman Leaps from Train to Escape Assault

A 23-year-old woman was injured after leaping from a moving train to escape an alleged rape attempt, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Telangana. She was traveling from Secunderabad to Medchal alone when accosted by an unidentified man on March 22.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar assured the family that the suspect would face justice and arranged for the woman's transfer from Gandhi Hospital to a private medical facility. BJP's Mahila Morcha president, Shilpa Reddy, facilitated the move.
Four teams are working to apprehend the suspect. The case has heightened concerns over women's safety, with local leaders urging enhanced support for the victim. Her condition is stable, and she remains under observation, police confirmed.
