An Indian Air Force civil engineer was fatally shot at his official residence in Prayagraj's cantonment area on Saturday morning, authorities reported.

According to Puramufti Station's SHO Manoj Singh, the engineer, SN Mishra, was attacked in his sleep by an unidentified assailant who fired through the window.

Mishra, 51, was hit in the chest and later succumbed to his injuries at the Army hospital. His family, including his wife, son, and daughter, survive him as police continue to investigate the case, inspecting the scene with surveillance teams.
