The Chhattisgarh High Court has quashed three FIRs against former Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) GP Singh, citing malicious intent. Singh faced accusations of disproportionate assets, sedition, and extortion during the previous Congress government.
The cases, filed by the state's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW), claimed Singh amassed assets beyond his income. Investigations included searches at 15 locations, uncovering assets worth Rs 10 crore, leading to his 2021 suspension.
Despite his compulsory retirement, the Central Administrative Tribunal directed GP Singh's reinstatement earlier this year. Advocate General Prafull Bharat confirmed HC's decision to quash the FIRs against Singh.
