The Congress launched a scathing attack on the BJP on Wednesday, concerning the alleged cash-for-government jobs scam in Goa. The opposition demanded a detailed white paper on all recruitments made post-2019, alongside a probe led by a retired High Court judge.
This denunciation follows the arrest of a BJP female worker linked to the scandal, prompting the party's dissociation from any involved members. The scam surfaced as six individuals were detained for accepting bribes, leading Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to urge public complaints from duped individuals.
With 18 arrests made by Goa Police so far, Congress leaders like Alok Sharma and Girish Chodankar are questioning recruitment processes between 2019 and 2024, suggesting BJP ties to ongoing irregularities. An investigation supervised by a high-level committee is demanded to uncover the truth behind these governmental practices.
