Unmasking the Shadow: Daniela Klette and the Red Army Faction
Daniela Klette, believed to be one of the last surviving members of the Red Army Faction, faces charges of robbery, attempted murder, and firearm possession. Klette is accused of orchestrating several heists, including a 2015 incident in Stuhr. Her lawyer disputes the charges, as authorities contemplate trial proceedings.
Daniela Klette, allegedly one of the final remnants of the notorious Red Army Faction that gripped Germany with fear during the 1970s, has been charged with a series of serious crimes, including robbery and attempted murder. The charges also encompass the possession of a firearm.
Arrested in Berlin earlier this year, Klette stands accused alongside two accomplices of stealing over 2.7 million euros through brazen raids on money transport operations and supermarkets between 1999 and 2016. In a 2015 heist in Stuhr, Klette allegedly threatened a victim with a firearm, although her defense lawyer contests this claim.
While investigators seek to bring Klette to justice, the Verden district court determines whether to move forward with the trial. This case revives memories of the Red Army Faction's violent campaign, which ended officially in 1998, but seemingly lingered through Klette's alleged activities.
