In a significant ruling, a Delhi court has acquitted three individuals accused in a 2017 attempted murder case, citing major investigative flaws. The judgment, delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Atul Ahlawat, underscored the insufficiency of motive, which was described as a 'double-edged sword' capable of false implications.
The case involved Faeem Kureshi, Naeem Kureshi, and Hanif Khan, who were accused of assaulting Aslam at his residence and allegedly shooting him. However, crucial evidence such as bullet holes on clothing and the weapon of crime was missing, raising questions about the prosecution's case.
The court further noted the absence of forensic analysis on blood samples from the crime scene and the dubious nature of eyewitness testimonies. Highlighting these investigative lapses, the court concluded that the possibility of false implication could not be ignored, leading to the acquittal.
