Tragic Attack in Hasbaya: Journalists Among Casualties Amid Ongoing Conflict
An Israeli strike on a guesthouse in Hasbaya, southern Lebanon, killed at least three journalists, including workers from Al-Mayadeen and Al-Manar. Criticism mounts over civilian targets, as Lebanese authorities report over 2,500 deaths and a looming humanitarian crisis. Ceasefire talks are ongoing amid escalating violence.
An Israeli strike early Friday morning targeted a guesthouse in Hasbaya, southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of at least three journalists who were sleeping at the time, as reported by Lebanese media.
Among the deceased were cameraman Ghassan Najjar and engineer Mohamed Reda of Al-Mayadeen, a pro-Iranian outlet, along with a cameraman from Hezbollah's Al-Manar. Al-Mayadeen claimed the attack on the journalists' residence was deliberate, while Israel has yet to comment.
As the death toll surpasses 2,500 in Lebanon amid the ongoing conflict, humanitarian concerns grow, prompting further ceasefire discussions between international and regional leaders. The United States continues to press for restraint to prevent further civilian casualties in the escalating disputes involving Israel, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
