Authorities seized more than 12 kg of gold jewellery, valued at Rs 6.5 crore, from a vehicle at the Mant toll plaza on the Yamuna Expressway, confirmed police sources on Tuesday.

The gold, meticulously packaged in 16 packets weighing a total of 12.387 kg, was discovered during a late-night raid. The operation involved a joint team comprising police, the GST Flying Squad, and the Excise department.

Two individuals in possession of the jewellery failed to produce proper documentation. Consequently, the car driver, Vivek Gupta, has been served a notice as he is regarded as the vehicle's owner. The involved parties have been given three days to provide further consignment details, as noted by Assistant Commissioner GST, Kartar Singh.
