Escalating Tensions: Russia's Nightly Drone Strikes on Ukraine
Russia launched drone attacks on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, for the second consecutive night, damaging residential areas and injuring civilians. Further assaults targeted Zaporizhzhia, killing one and injuring 14. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted numerous drones, but the threat persists as international tensions escalate.
Russia intensified its military hostility against Ukraine by attacking Kyiv with several waves of drones, damaging residential buildings and injuring civilians. The assault marks the second consecutive night of attacks, Ukrainian officials confirmed on Monday.
In a separate incident in southeastern Ukraine, a ballistic missile attack on Zaporizhzhia resulted in one fatality and 14 injuries, local authorities said. The Ukrainian military reported that 59 out of 116 Russian drones were intercepted overnight, while others likely impacted Ukrainian territory.
The situation continues to resemble a war zone as the Ukrainian military remains on high alert, working to protect civilians amidst these ongoing aggressions. The conflict, which began in February 2022, seemingly has no immediate resolution as both nations deny targeting civilians.
