Explosive Discovery: Crackdown on Illegal Firecrackers in Uttar Pradesh

Police in Uttar Pradesh have launched a crackdown on illegal firecracker manufacturing and storage, recovering large quantities of explosive materials. In Gonda, police found eight quintals of illegal firecrackers, leading to the arrest of two individuals. A similar raid in Shahjahanpur uncovered illegally stored explosives in a local warehouse.

Authorities in Uttar Pradesh are intensifying efforts to combat the illegal production and storage of firecrackers. This comes after significant recoveries were made in the Gonda and Shahjahanpur districts, officials reported on Tuesday.

In Gonda, police seized approximately eight quintals of unlawful fireworks and detained two suspects. The operation followed a deadly blast at a local firecracker unit, prompting senior officials to mandate a comprehensive campaign against illegal firecracker activities.

Meanwhile, police in Shahjahanpur, acting on a tip-off, discovered a stash of explosive materials in a warehouse. The seizure, which was witnessed by the local Sub Divisional Magistrate, led to the arrest warrants being issued for the accused, who remain at large.
