In a decisive move towards democratic empowerment, Bangladesh's interim government has established a nine-member commission tasked with evaluating and recommending reforms to the nation's constitution.
Headed by prominent Bangladeshi-American Professor Ali Riaz, the Constitution Reform Commission will submit its findings to the government within a 90-day window, according to BSS news agency reports.
Formed to promote a representative and effective democracy, the commission includes notable figures such as student representative Mahfuj Alam and a host of legal scholars and writers, who will undertake a comprehensive analysis to suggest changes reflecting public opinion and needs.
