The Nagaland government is taking significant strides in healthcare by planning to establish nursing schools in each district, as announced by Health Minister P Paiwang Konyak. This initiative comes in response to the rising demand for healthcare professionals.
Speaking at the School of Nursing's platinum jubilee in Kohima, Konyak revealed that the central government has approved two new nursing colleges attached to medical institutions in the state. These will bridge workforce gaps and improve access to nursing education.
Konyak emphasized the critical role of nurses and urged them to explore opportunities in homecare and palliative services. He also highlighted the importance of adopting technological advancements while safeguarding patient confidentiality. Meanwhile, Motsuthung Patton, Principal Director of Health, praised the dedication and compassion inherent in the nursing profession.
