A Liberian individual has been apprehended at Indira Gandhi International Airport for smuggling cocaine valued at more than Rs 15 crore. According to authorities, the man had arrived from Addis Ababa via Doha on September 20.

Upon questioning, the passenger admitted to swallowing capsules containing narcotics. Medical procedures at Safdarjung Hospital revealed he had ingested 60 oval-shaped capsules of cocaine, weighing just over 1 kg.

In a separate incident, customs officials intercepted seven Uzbekistan nationals attempting to smuggle gold worth Rs 1.8 crore into India. The group, which included a juvenile, was caught upon their arrival from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Following thorough examinations, 2,739 grams of gold were confiscated and six adults were detained.
