A Brazilian woman has been apprehended by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai international airport. She was found carrying 124 cocaine-filled capsules, which she had ingested prior to her flight, an official reported.

The seized contraband is valued at Rs 9.73 crore in the illicit market. The operation followed a specific input received by the DRI Mumbai zonal unit. The woman had arrived from Sao Paulo and was intercepted upon her arrival.

The suspect admitted to smuggling the drugs in her body. She has since been produced before a magistrate and admitted to the state-run JJ Hospital. The investigation is ongoing to identify additional members of the international drug syndicate.
