The Manipur Tribals' Forum Delhi on Wednesday accused the state government of spreading misinformation about Kuki-Zo communities and urged the Centre to intervene and address perceived bias and injustice.

During a press conference, forum members opposed giving Chief Minister N. Biren Singh control of the Unified Command, run by the Union Home Ministry. They condemned the alleged marginalisation and recent acts of misinformation against their communities.

The forum issued six appendices rebutting allegations and explained discrepancies in population growth due to corrupt administrative practices rather than illegal immigration from Myanmar. Claims that Kuki-Zomi-Hmar communities use sophisticated weaponry were also described as misrepresentations. The forum called for a holistic approach to address the drug trade problem and accused the Chief Minister of selectively targeting their communities.
