In a landmark development, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, G C Murmu, has revealed that the supreme audit institution is creating a specialized Artificial Intelligence (AI) protocol to expedite the preparation of audit reports.

Murmu detailed the ongoing advancements, highlighting that data collection, cleaning, and analysis are being streamlined through innovative analytics, reducing potential algorithm biases in the process. Consequently, around 35 audit reports are set to be tabled in Parliament and state assemblies during the forthcoming winter session.

At the 16th Assembly of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), India was confirmed to hold the chairmanship for the 2024-2027 term. Key decisions included financial and strategic approvals, as well as plans to foster collaboration and technology-driven audits among member institutions. The assembly is poised to adopt the New Delhi Declaration, paving the way for future collaboration and advancements in public auditing.
