Feryal Mehsen had to evacuate her family from the village of Seddiqine in southern Lebanon due to escalating Israeli airstrikes. Returning to retrieve belongings, she narrowly escaped a nearby blast.

Now sheltered in Beirut, Mehsen scrolls through messages from worried relatives, reflecting on her ordeal. Israel's bombardment aimed at Hezbollah-affiliated sites has forced tens of thousands, including Mehsen, to flee their homes. Previously accustomed to sporadic fire, villagers were unprepared for the sudden escalation.

Mehsen, along with other displaced families, recounts the panic, the arduous journey to safety, and the ongoing sense of war, even in Beirut. Souad Mahde, from Qsaibah, describes her experience of fleeing under fire, enduring a grueling day-long journey to reach the capital.
