The incident took place on September 18, when the girl was shot dead while riding a motorcycle with her brother and mother. Initially, it was believed that the suspect Rinku, who had been accused of raping the girl, had committed the crime for revenge.

Further investigation revealed that the mother and brothers planned the murder to avoid public disgrace. The police have arrested three family members and are searching for another suspect. An illegal firearm used in the crime has also been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
