Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced former movie mogul, faces new sex crimes charges ahead of his retrial in the pivotal #MeToo case, as revealed by Manhattan prosecutors on Thursday.
The indictment, which remains sealed until Weinstein's arraignment, has multiple accusers ready to testify, according to Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg. The arraignment could occur as soon as September 18.
Weinstein, 72, is recovering from emergency heart surgery and was not present at the hearing. Prosecutors disclosed additional allegations dating back to the mid-2000s, including assaults at various New York locations.
