In a shocking incident near Jam Gate in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, two men were arrested while four others remain at large in connection with the violent assault on two young Army officers and the alleged rape of their female friend, police confirmed on Thursday.
A manhunt has been launched for the remaining suspects, as the BJP government faces severe criticism from the Opposition Congress over the law and order situation. Around 25 years old, the Army officers were out for a picnic with two female friends when they were attacked. They were held hostage and the suspects demanded Rs 10 lakh for their release.
Police have registered an FIR under various sections, including assault, robbery, and rape. Local law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing the investigation as the victims recover from the traumatic event. The accused fled into the forest upon seeing the police team.
