In a shocking incident, four individuals have been charged with attempting to extort Rs 1 crore from a prominent coaching centre in Tagore Town, police confirmed on Thursday.
According to the complaint lodged by Vivek Kumar, the coaching centre's owner, the harrowing episode began on September 4 when a group burst into the establishment, harassing staff and initially demanding Rs 50 lakh. On Tuesday, the group returned, raising their demand to Rs 1 crore and even threatening to set the facility on fire.
The police have filed an FIR against the identified suspects: Rahul Singh Parihar, Badal Singh, Praveen Shukla, and Saurav Tiwari, under pertinent sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajiv Kumar stated that a detailed investigation is currently underway to apprehend the culprits.
