Four persons, including three women, were detained in Indore on Tuesday for their involvement in a fraudulent wedding scheme, according to police.
Authorities identified the suspects as Varsha (27), Rekha Sharma (40), Sunita alias Basanti (45), and Vijay Kataria (55). They allegedly orchestrated marriages between Varsha and two separate men, one from Maharashtra and the other from Rajasthan, only for Varsha to abscond with the men's jewelry and cash shortly thereafter, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotia.
