Delhi Police have detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals residing in various localities of South Delhi without proper identification documentation, officials confirmed. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South East Ravi Kumar Singh, these detentions were conducted in areas such as Nizamuddin, Kalindi Kunj, Shaheen Bagh, and Sarita Vihar, with the individuals now placed in a detention camp.

"To date, we have detained 12 Bangladeshis from different parts of the city. All were without identification and some had been residing here for an extended period," Singh stated, emphasizing ongoing investigations. He noted the role of the Bangladeshi cell, a specialized unit tasked with verification work; to date, approximately 1,200 individuals have been assessed.

Meanwhile, amid ongoing efforts against fraudulent identification, Delhi Police arrested six people linked to producing fake ID cards. Following complaints by the Electoral registration officer, two FIRs were filed, resulting in the arrests, including a cyber café owner involved in the scheme. Investigations into these breaches are actively underway, signaling a broader crackdown.
