The Delhi Police, in a significant law enforcement operation, deported a Bangladeshi mother and her son who had been residing illegally in the national capital. This action follows a verification drive by the South Campus Police Station, identifying them as Naim Khan, aged 22, and his mother, Nazma Khan, amidst intensified efforts to locate undocumented immigrants.
According to the police, Nazma Khan has been living in Delhi unlawfully since 2005. Her son, during police questioning, revealed he entered India through the West Bengal border in 2020 and had been residing with her in Katwaria Sarai. The duo's detention was triggered by a tip-off received on December 29 concerning an illegal Bangladeshi at Shastri Market near Pippal Chowk.
Post-detention, the pair was returned to Bangladesh via the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). This deportation is part of broader efforts by the South West District Police to tackle unauthorized migrant stays, with intensified scrutiny on those without valid documents. Notably, the drive detected seven more illegal Bangladeshi migrants, prompting further deportations.
