Central Team to Assess Flood Damage in Telangana
A six-member Central team will visit Telangana on September 11 to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains and flooding. Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy briefed the team leader, K P Singh, about the situation. The team will visit affected districts and interact with victims and officials.

A Central team, comprising six members, will visit Telangana on September 11 to assess the damage caused by the recent heavy rains and flooding.
Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy spoke to the team leader K P Singh, Joint Secretary in the Union Home Ministry, over the phone and briefed him about the situation on the ground, according to a release from Reddy's staff on Monday.
During his visit to Khammam on Sunday, Reddy witnessed the flood-hit areas firsthand.
The Central team is scheduled to survey the Khammam and Mahabubabad districts, among other affected regions, on September 11. They are expected to interact with both the victims and local officials.
The heavy rains and subsequent flooding have claimed 29 lives in the state so far.
Preliminary estimates from the state government have placed the total losses due to rain and floods at Rs 5,438 crore.
