BJP Leader G Kishan Reddy Assures Support to Telangana Flood Victims

Telangana BJP president and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday visited flood-hit areas of Khammam district, assuring the people that the Narendra Modi government would provide full support.
Reddy noted that the Centre has urged the Telangana government to utilize the Rs 1,345 crore available in the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for flood relief. This amount, provided as an advance by the Government of India, should be the first line of aid.
Following recent heavy rains and floods that claimed 29 lives, the state government has requested the Centre to declare it a national calamity and release immediate assistance of Rs 2,000 crore. Kishan Reddy, who assessed the flood-affected areas of Khammam, criticized the state for inadequate support and promised future preventive measures.
