A 33-year-old woman and her two relatives were arrested in Nagpur on Monday for allegedly murdering her mother-in-law over a property dispute, police revealed.

The woman, identified as Vaishali Akhilesh Raut, allegedly enlisted her cousins, Ritesh Prakash Hiwse and Shrikant alias Sameer Narendra Hiwse, to strangle the 54-year-old victim, Sunita Omkar Raut, on August 28.

The murder, initially staged to look like a heart attack, was exposed ten days after the last rites due to neighbors' reports of injuries on the victim's body and inconsistencies in the death circumstances. Investigations revealed suspicious phone activity and financial transactions involving Rs 2 lakh paid for the killing.
