In a decisive move, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri declared that officers from Himachal Pradesh's Jal Shakti department operating outside their jurisdiction will face stringent actions, including withholding payments and recovering funds for unauthorized projects.

Addressing a calling attention motion by BJP's Pawan Kajal, Agnihotri stressed the need for strict compliance, particularly in the context of construction activities such as retaining walls, roads, and cremation grounds that fall outside designated areas.

Agnihotri also announced the establishment of one Jal Shakti department division in each of the state's 68 assembly constituencies, noting that 64 have already been completed. Addressing concerns about the poor quality of pipes purchased under the previous administration, he affirmed the current government's focus on progressing with essential works.
