In a dramatic turn of events, police in Chandausi have arrested BJP worker Prem Pal and three accomplices for allegedly staging a shooting incident.
Pal, who initially claimed to have been shot in late July over a land dispute, had fabricated the story in an attempt to frame rivals Dileep, Shyam Lal, and Hemant. The investigation revealed that Pal enlisted the help of two compounders and others to inflict a minor injury and insert a bullet into the wound to simulate an attack.
The original suspects have been released from jail, while efforts continue to apprehend a remaining accomplice.
