Retired Soldier Accused of Shooting Dalit Man Over Land Dispute
A retired soldier, Arun Singh, allegedly shot and killed Ramesh Bharti, a Dalit man, over a land dispute in a village. Police have registered a murder case and are investigating the incident.

In a tragic incident, a retired soldier allegedly shot dead a Dalit man in a village on Monday over a land dispute, police reported.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Vineet Jaiswal disclosed that Arun Singh, who resides in the Umri Begamganj area, had been embroiled in a prolonged land dispute with Ramesh Bharti, aged 46. The incident occurred near Pakri Dubey village where Singh allegedly confronted Bharti and fatally shot him.
Senior police officials and a forensic team quickly arrived at the scene to conduct an initial investigation, retrieve the body, and transport it for postmortem. Following a complaint from Bharti's son, a murder case has been registered, and multiple police teams are actively working to apprehend the accused.
